Recipe: Almond Chai Latte

Recipes

Almond Chai Lattes – for cold winter days

Chai spice mix: (all ground spices)
2 Tbsp black tea leaves (2-3 tea bags)
1.5 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cardamom
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp nutmeg

(chuck it all in a jar and shake to mix)

+ 1 cup of almond milk (or milk of your choice)
+ maybe a dash of coconut cream/milk

Put almond milk + 1-2 tsps of chai tea mix in a small saucepan on the stove, simmer over a low/med heat for 5 mins. Add a bit of coconut cream to make it a bit creamier

That’s it! Pour into a cup through a tea strainer, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon on top and revel in your achievement!

Optional for froth lovers – I put a bit of almond milk and coconut cream into my milk frother thing, whiz it up and add it to the cup once I’ve strained the chai. Yummmm!

I find that the almond milk is sweet enough for me, but you can always add a wee bit of maple syrup/ honey/ rice malt syrup or coconut nectar too
